Beautifully crafted plank-on-plank representation in wood of a famous Redwing racer of the Bembridge Sailing Club on the Isle of Wight, a "one-deisgn" class originated in 1896. The name "Redwing" refers to sails, which must all be deep red. Bermuda rigged, she has a single jib and mailsail, canvas-covered deck, long shallow keel, cutaway bow and overhanging counter stern.
Legth 610mm, height 900mm, beam 102mm (24" x 36" x 5")
This fine-looking vessel has a ketch cutter rig (to split the total sail area into relatively small, easier-to-handle sections), a deep long keel, and a clipper style bow. Length overall 32" height 31" .
This elegant display yacht, with her large gaff cutter rig and lifting keel, is reminiscent of early 20th century cabin cruisers from areas like the Norfolk Broads. She has lots of detail - skylights, mooring tackle etc - for a model of this price. Her dimensions are 24" on deck, 36" overall, and 34'' tall. Fully assembled, but some simple rigging required.
The highly-detailed Tribute Models below are made entirely from wood, metal, and cloth, and have no plastic parts. They are the best quality we have offered for sale, and would not look out of place in any maritime museum.
Launched in May 1934, Rainbow was built to defend the Americas Cup against Endeavour. Endeavour was generally considered to be the faster vessel and won the first two races of the series. However, expert handling by skipper Harold S Vanderbilt and his tactician W. Sherman Hoyt, enabled Rainbow to recover and triumph in the last four races, winning the 1934 event.

Commissioned by Sir Thomas Lipton and launched in 1901. Shamrock II had a less than auspicious initial outing, when during her sea trials in the Solent, the pressure of the wind over her massive sail area proved too much for the rig of the yacht, resulting in the 130ft (43m) mast and 100ft (33m) boom crashing down to the deck. Luckily none of those aboard, including King Edward VII were seriously injured.
Measures: length 15", height 22½".
