This connoisseur's model of Lord Nelson's flagship is a masterpiece of detailing and authenticity. The hull is timber planked above the waterline and copper sheathed below it; the deck cannon and anchors are metal castings; the standing rigging hull ties are real chain. The detail is simply incredible. The flags shown are; at the bow, the Union Flag; on the mainmast, the defaced George Cross, signifying the presence of a Vice Admiral (Nelson's rank at Trafalgar) at the stern, the White Ensign. Her keel rests on solid turned brass uprights; these in turn are mounted on an oak base with copper end bands, all made from materials recovered from HMS Victory during refit.
This model is handmade and limited in quantity to 821 (the number of crew aboard at Trafalgar), with its place in the series pyrographed (burnt) into the oak. Comes supplied with numbered certificate of authenticity and "Muster Roll" of crew members at Trafalgar.

This model of HMS Victory are astonishingly detailed - the 18" size is virtually indistinguishable from museum quality models costing several hundred pounds! The secret is a new moulding process, which enables the model-builders to create the intricate hull relatively quickly. Most of their efforts can be concentrated on the "bits that make her look right" such as the painting of the hull (by hand), the construction of the wooden deck, and the assembly of the remarkably authentic masts and spars.

This beautiful wood-planked, hollow-hulled model depicts Cutty Sark under full sail, and is mounted on a section of timber decking that was removed from the ship during her current restoration (the main deck is to be replaced in its entirety). The spars and rigging are amazingly detailed, with 21 sails in total, whilst the deck has lots of features including shore boats, hatches and pin rails. Her bottom has a realistic Muntz plating effect.
Each base is individually numbered with its position in the limited edition series of 1869.

Moulded Hull: The innovative resin moulding process used for this and the next 4 models enables the manufacturers to include an incredible amount of detail at a relatively low cost compared with wood. It is difficult, particularly in the larger models, to tell them apart from enthusiast-built one-offs.
